Disaster Recovery or Work Shut Down Plan
Allied Waste Services has the unique ability to deploy vast resources anywhere in the Metroplex to deal with any type of disaster that would require our services. Allied has over 300 service vehicles with various specifications and capabilities that could be made available to an area in the event of a disaster.
Our fleet, equipped with two-way communications, is capable of collection and disposal of solid waste in the event of a disaster that created any type of life/safety concern. In addition to collection and disposal equipment, Allied Waste has large heavy machinery that is capable of clearing debris from roadways and restoring access to a disaster scene.
Fully prepared at all times to respond to community emergencies, Allied Waste was the first trash company on the scene in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina last fall. We brought in temporary housing and equipment from across the country to help people in this time of need. Our team was in place for many months during the hardest time. The company’s contingency planning ensures that the public’s health is always protected despite business interruptions caused by natural disasters or labor disputes.
